Everyone has a different idea about what the best link building method is.

Really, there is no one best link building method. Instead, webmasters should be focusing on a series of techniques with the goal of getting natural links in the future.

The Catch 22 with link building is that you can’t get backlinks if your site is so far off the SERPs that no one can find it. How is another webmaster supposed to link to you if he doesn’t know your site exists? So, having the best site in the world with lots of useful information isn’t going to help your rankings if you don’t at least put some effort into link building methods.

Forum posting, guest blog writing and social bookmarking are all considered some of the best link building methods because they are free. However, you are going to end up spending a lot of time on these link building methods and probably won’t have such great results, especially if you mistakenly spend time posting on nofollow sites. You can also buy text links. This is a good way to start for small websites but isn’t the best link building method – unless you plan on keeping it up for a very long time.

I personally think that the best link building method is making requests from other webmasters to give you a link. However, this link building method isn’t going to work if you just make requests on the basis of the webmaster’s sites’ ranking. Instead, spend some time doing searches for topics that are related to yours but not direct competition. For example, if you sell orthopaedic shoes, find blogs about back pain and request a link.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
